Boarding up a staple into a letter
a bullet piercing through a family sweater
how can a value be marked so cheap
how can one man pretend to care and weep
I’ve lost hours of sleep trying to teach myself breathing patterns
moving mountains gathering planets but progress wouldn’t even fucking matter
these idle hands and idle days separate and deflate my lonely ways
i will never leave my heart it’s beating and it’s here to stay
another idea it enters me
stopping halfway like what I’m I doing dialing
I want more and I’m pushing at half speed
have so many contacts to talk to but I need my own glasses to read
I’ve cried out as the music keeps guiding
erasing maps and taking me to places worth finding
so fed up but i still stay so hungry
with a limp I scream while i’m lunging
way past the point of truly feeling anything
a token of truth disguised itself & shown me everything
i want to honestly reach the measure of madness
lift it up on my own and rediscover what a man is
