Letting Go

I found this in my old journal…

I love you but I have to let you go for now

It won’t be forever, just a little while

I just have to live my life now, without you in it

Though it’s not the path either of us chose, I am thankful for the spots with you in them

A piece of you will always be locked deep inside my heart that no one else can ever touch

You know that part of me will love you until I take my last breath.

So sleep well my love and know that one day we will be reunited

Until then, I am letting go
