Walking slowly down the hospital hallway, Kurt Hummel swallows trying not to think about why hes here.
“May I help you?” The receptionist, who looks like shes bored, says.
“I’m looking for Burt Hummel’s room… He’s my dad.” Kurt says sounding proud.
“Oh I thought the other young man was his son… He was saying as much anyways. Down the hall, room 206.” She says going back to typing on the computer sitting in front of her.
Finn’s here? Kurt thinks as he walks down the hallway to the room and stops outside the room with the door barely open as he hears the voices inside.
“Come on kid. You know Kurt would want to know about that!” He hears his father say, and lets out a breathe of relief at hearing it.
“What am I supposed to say? I mean I’ve already been keeping the crush I had on Sam from him… what will he think about this?” Kurt narrows his eyes. Blaine had a crush on Sam? He forgets that for the moment, reminding himself to bring it up to Blaine later and listens in.
“Blaine…” Burt says in a parental voice.
Kurt hears him sigh. “I’ll think about it. I just don’t know, I mean he’s with Adam now. I want him to be happy, even if its not with me.” Kurt swallows the lump in his throat and stands a little taller, he needs to tell Blaine the truth.
“Blaine, You’re like…” Burt pauses for a second, “You ARE a son to me, and as such I think its my duty to tell you that I don’t think Kurt and this Adam fella will last. Want to know why?”
“Why?” Blaine says in a small voice.
“Because it took all of two hours for Kurt to tell me he was dating you. Guess how long it took him to tell me he was dating this Alfred.”
“Adam.”
“Whatever.” Burt smiles. “He didn’t.”
Blaine gasps. “He… but you’re important to him and…”
“That’s my point kid. If this Alfred kid was so important to him. Why didn’t he tell me?”
Kurt can’t see it, but he imagines it. He knows Blaine’s smiling.
That’s when he decides to intervene, pretending he didn’t hear a thing.
“Hey dad!!” Kurt says to his dad as he walks in shutting the door back, this time all the way.
Kurt turns to Blaine and smiles down at him. “Hi.”
“Hey.” Blaine says, smiling back just as widely.
Kurt turns back to his dad. “What did the doctors say?”
“They haven’t said anything yet. The doctor should be in at any moment though.”
Just as Kurt’s about to respond, someone knocks on the door and they all smile slightly as the doctor walks in.
“Burt Hummel.” The doctor says in a friendly voice.
“That’s me.” Burt says and Kurt and Blaine look at each other and roll their eyes.
“I have some great news for you and your family.” She says, sitting down in the chair in front of Burt. “Frankly, you’ve been taking care of yourself Burt and that’s about to pay off.”
She stands up, putting the x-rays on a screen behind her head. “You see, this is the one we took right before Christmas.” She says pointing to the scan and Kurt swallows just looking at it. “And this…” She says pointing at the new one which looks a lot better. “Is the one we took today. You, my friend, are cancer free.” The doctor smiles, and Kurt lets out a sob and grabs onto his dad’s hand. He looks over at Blaine to celebrate too, but hes just looking at Burt and smiling, tears falling down his face.
Its then that Kurt knows for sure, he knew before, but he knows now for sure, that this is where he belongs. This is his family.
“So when can I leave this place?” Burt says, making everyone laugh.
“We’re keeping you one more night to monitor your vitals, but by noon tomorrow, you should be able to pull out of here.”
The doctor leaves and Kurt gives his dad the biggest hug in the world, then he watches as Blaine does the same.
After they all settle down, Kurt looks at Blaine then at his dad, then back to Blaine. “Can we talk?”
Blaine doesn’t say anything, he just nods, and Kurt excuses the both of them from his dad’s room as they walk outside.
They walk outside into the night air and start walking towards the back of the building.
“So what’s this about?” Blaine asks as they reach a spot where they’re sure no one will interrupt them.
“I just want to say thank you. For taking care of my dad, Blaine. I know how you said you’d take care of him, and him and Carole have been telling me about how you do anything he needs, and even come to Friday night dinners. So thank you.”
Blaine smiles, “This may not be something you want to hear, but I love him probably just about as much as you do Kurt. I do anything for him….” Blaine stops and at first Kurt starts to answer, but he hears Blaine mutter, “And for you.”
Kurt gulps. This is it.
“I broke up with Adam.”
“You…”
“Yeah, I broke up with him. About a week ago now.” Kurt says, not meeting Blaine’s eyes. “I know I should have told you sooner, but I was thinking about some things, and I was getting over some things.”
“Why are you telling me this?” Blaine says, barely above a whisper.
“Don’t you see?” Kurt says, grabbing one of Blaine’s hands, “I couldn’t be with him. I still love you.”
“You…”
“And I realized it about a month ago, but I just don’t know, I still couldn’t forgive you then. I was so hurt, but then we watched Moulin Rouge and everything changed.” Blaine lets out a gasp.
“You too?”
“What do you mean too??” Kurt says, his eyes widening.
Blaine blushes, and looks down. “About a month ago, when we were doing an assignment for Glee club about songs in Movies, I was missing you a lot. A lot more than usual, because it was the week after what happened at the wedding and I decided to watch Moulin Rouge and I saw us singing Come What May.”
Kurt gulps, “Me too and then Santana said something about it being our wedding song and…” Kurt lets out a shaky breathe. “I still want that with you. I still want it all with you.”
Blaine grasps Kurt’s hand tighter. “Me too, if you’ll let me.”
“Of course.” Kurt says, leaning closer to Blaine. “I never stopped wanting you.”
They both lean in then, meeting half way. As their lips meet, its as if nothing bad ever happened between them.
Kurt pulls back first, but Blaine speaks first. “What does this mean for us? Are we back together?”
“I hope so.” Kurt says, then looks up at Blaine smiling. “We never really did say goodbye.”
“No, we didn’t. And we never will.” Blaine says as they grasp hands and walk back into the hospital towards Burt’s room knowing this time, it may just be forever.
So I never really did write my wedding fic for Klaine week, so this is to make up for that <333
Blaine’s planning something special for his and Kurt’s three year anniversary what could it be?
Blaine Anderson had never considered himself a romantic, but when it came to Kurt he never could quite help himself. He would do anything and everything to make Kurt smile, and that’s why on their three year anniversary, Blaine decided it was time to propose.
He had it all arranged, taking Kurt back to Dalton, singing Teenage Dream to him and proposing on the Dalton staircase, but sometimes things don’t always go as planned, but as Blaine thought about how the proposal had actually turned out, he didn’t think it mattered.
———————-
They’re sitting in the living room of their New York apartment one night, Kurt had moved out of the loft a little over a year ago, watching Moulin Rouge and Blaine just smiles over at him and knows. He undeniably knows. This is where he’s meant to be.This is where he wants to be for the rest of his life. So the next day, he goes and he buys the ring, its simple, but its also extravagant, just like he knows Kurt will want.
The plan is all set up, the Warblers are all called, Dalton is called, but one night, a week or so before their anniversary, Kurt announces he doesn’t want to make a huge deal out of their anniversary this year. They’re both so busy with school, and Kurt has his internship (which is quickly growing into an actual job) and NYADA, and Blaine has NYU and his gigs. So Kurt says he just wants to exchange gifts, nothing big this year, or at least right now.
So Blaine calls it all off, but he doesn’t give up, he’s still going to propose because this is the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and nothing can change that.
——
Its the day before their anniversary and Kurt receives the news, he’s being promoted at VOGUE and Blaine is so proud of him. He is, but he just can’t get it out of his head that the fates are working against him.
They celebrate and when the party is over, Kurt looks at Blaine with the expression in his eyes that Blaine knows means “take me home now” and that’s where they go, and make love all night long, because things may be changing, but their love never will.
They pass out soon after, but not before murmuring how much they love each other and a happy early anniversary.
——-
Blaine blinks awake and as soon as he opens his eyes, he smiles, because the first thing he sees is Kurt and nothing but Kurt and that’s all Blaine ever wants to see for the rest of his life. He would be content to just lay here with Kurt, right like this for he rest of his life.
He brushes a single piece of hair from his boyfriend’s eyes and lays it behind his ear. Kurt starts to stir and slowly he blinks awake.
“Morning sweetie. Happy anniversary.” Kurt smiles.
Blaine doesn’t say anything for a moment, so Kurt panics. “Do I have something on my face? Is it morning breath? Oh my god, I—”
But Blaine cuts him off, “You’re so beautiful. I love you so much.” He says, barely above a whisper.
“I love you too.” Kurt smiles in reply.
“Then marry me.” Blaine says, and suddenly Kurt’s eyes widen.
“What?”
“Marry me.” Blaine says again. “I have the ring, I can redo the proposal over if you’d like, but you just look so amazing right now, and I just want to spend the rest of my life with you. Marry me.” Blaine tries again.
“YES!!!!” Kurt squeals! “Yes! Of course!! Of course I’ll marry you!”
Blaine’s never been happier to hear anything in his life. Suddenly he grabs Kurt, and hugs him as tightly as he can, kissing him all over his face and rolling them around in bed, laughing and smiling because they are getting married.
Kurt stops them then, him lying on top of Blaine, he pulls his head back. “We’re engaged.”
“We’re engaged.” Blaine repeats the grin about to split his face in two.
“Kurt and Blaine Hummel-Anderson. I like the ring of that don’t you?”
“I’ve never heard anything more beautiful.” Blaine says as he leans down kissing his fiance once again.

Blaine Anderson never considered himself a romantic, but Kurt Hummel (Hummel-Anderson!!!!) sure did.
