How is it animals can live in pain and horrible conditions and their owners get away with it, yet someone comes in and tries to rescue them/put them out of pain and they end up in court.
The “LAW” is a complete joke, protects no one but the abusers.
Imagine This...
Imagine.
You awake to find yourself trapped in a cramped space. You are scared, you are not alone however, there is another soul pushed up beside you. Two of you in this tight place.
The floor is made of wire. Your foot is hurting, bleeding. You try and move your foot away from the wire, you sit down, but the wire hurts your thighs, pressing into your flesh.
Your partners foot is stuck in the wire, they fret frantically breaking their toes trying to save themselves.
Your partner, trapped with you, is blind and deaf. You cannot comfort him. You cannot communicate. You are trapped with your thoughts and the lonely cries of others you can’t see. They circle around and around.
It is dark, you haven’t seen sunlight, in fact what is sunlight? The air is thick with the smell of urine and feces. You lie in it, there is no other choice. No one cleans this place for you.
You have a small plastic bowl, maybe 2cm deep with water. Water that is tainted, dirty. Sometimes they feed you, but its never enough for you and your cell mate.
You’re starving.
Your hair smells putrid. Its matted, the matted hair pull and tear at your flesh, it hurts.
Under the ‘hair’ is hundreds of parasites feeding off you. You try and kill them, but you never win the battle.
Your body is scarred with all the children you have made with your partner. It was not your choice.
Some of your children died, they were too sick and you could not provide the food they needed. You watched them beg you for what you could not give. You feel like a failure.
The ones who survived were taken.
You don’t know where they are. Some were too young, still needed you.
You have lost hope.
You are a dog in a puppy mill.

It’s time to end the shameful and cruel treatment of our companion animals, who are suffering on puppy factories and need our help.
Sign the petition and tell the Australian Government that we will not tolerate the factory farming of our companion animals. We no longer want the pet industry to mislead us about what is acceptable for our pets.
Oscar’s Law aims to abolish puppy factories, backyard breeders, the sale of animals from pet shops and online trading websites and promote adoption through rescue groups, pounds and shelters. Adoption is the intelligent alternative to impulse buying.
Be part of the solution, the power is in our hands in the choices we make as consumers. Never buy an animal from a pet shop or online trading website.

Some woman throws her $30 dog out the 2nd story window and ends up in jail (GOOD) Puppyfarmers breed, abuse and neglect THOUSANDS of dogs, and get nothing but protection from the councils & end up rich.
Australia, you really need to review your so called “animal cruelty” laws.
In other news my cat is really sick & has been for the past 2 days.
Shes currently curled up on the couch on a cushion next to my leg. She’ll look up every now & then let out a little meow then sleep. She’s lost a shit load of weight & wont settle unless shes sitting on or directly near me.
Poor babeh.
