All of the oboes were absent from orchestra yesterday and the concermaster stood up for the tuning note and we all just sat there in confused silence until someone else played an A.

When a guest conductor tries to change something

We are never ever ever getting back together. Like ever.

-Viola section

Whenever my orchestra teacher says to play the D string while tuning the only thing I can do is say
“He wants the D.”

When you forget to loosen your bow after practicing.

omfg bow I’m so sorry. Please forgive me. I won’t do it again. I love you. Have some rosin.

I love playing viola.

Despite the fact that we hardly ever get the melody in songs, I just really love the viola. My stand partner and I are so close and we have the best time playing together and I just love it so much. I’m so tired of all the shit we get though, “What is a viola?” “Oh yeah its not really a viola its just a violin” Like are you stupid? Would I tell you I play an instrument that doesn’t exist? And NO, a viola is very different from the violin! People are so uneducated in the music department these days. Whatever.

So like, I almost got the solo for Orchestra and yes me and my competition are “good” but she doesn’t do vibrato and stuff on the solo like I do. Plus everyone said I deserved I dunno. I feel bad. Lol. But I wanted that solo! Blargh.

What if in Band/Orchestra each percussionist specialized in one instrument alone. Imagine how big the percussion section would be. There would be someone graduating college with a PhD in Triangle.
