Worry
You’d woken up from your spot on the bed, finding the blankets peeled back and missing a key person. Bolting up out of bed in a mixture of fear and joy, you rushed over to the open door to find your alternate.
Didn’t take too long either. Sollux was crumpled up in a ball, shaking and huddled against the wall, hands gripping at his chest, yellow staining the fabric and his hands. He groaned up and looked up at you, a nervous and guilty smile on his face quickly replaced by a viciously pained one, curling back into his ball.
Settling him carefully back on the bed, you rushed away to get some clean bandages and warm water, setting them down on the bed before removing his old one. His hisses at the old one being removed, the screech at the water cleansing the wound, the sore groans at the new wrappings, all made you flinch at his pain, though giving you a bright smile. He was still here, even if he was beat to all hell. Even his bloody coughs were music to your ears.
You hadn’t lost him just yet. Sollux was still here.
