headcanon: stiles went to a different school before his mom died and was a pretty cool kid and was buddies with heather and what not then after his mom died people started making fun of him and looking and talking to him differently so papa stilinski uprooted them both and moved across town and enrolled him in a different school and on the first day some jerkoff pushes stiles around and starts making fun of him for not having a mom and scott intervenes and defends stiles’ honor then later explains to stiles, “it’s cool i don’t have a dad” and then they mutually agree over grilled cheese sandwiches that they can share parents
