About the Black Sun - Meanings.
I’ve heard about the fuss around the symbol Jared had on his t-shirt in the ‘Olympic Spirit’ video, and - as I know Jared CAN’T be related with nazism - I did a couple of researches.
This is the symbol:

In fact, it turns out that the symbol used by Jared is linked to a religion of Northern European origins, the Odinism (in which it represents the cosmology). I’m not neccessarily saying that he follows it as an ‘adept’, but maybe he pulls out some concepts that inspire him. We all know how he loves to use esoteric symbols that may appear ‘obscure’ at first sight.
The religion is based on the figure of Odin, god-principle from which it comes the knowledge: and in fact on Twitter Jared has recently changed his bio from ‘vagabond’ to ‘autodidact Polyhistor’, a term which, I admit, I had to google. ‘Polyhistor’ literally means “knower, scholar, someone endowed with many and various doctrines”. Coincidence? I’d say no.
But go ahead. The Odinism is based, at an ethical level, on Nine Noble Virtues to follow in our behaviour. They are:
Courage, truth, honor, loyalty, discipline, hospitality, industriousness, self reliance, perseverance.
Now, frankly, aren’t they the PERFECT summary of the personality of our Mr. Leto? Think about Jared: I do not think that one is intimidated by other people or by bad events (courage), he doesn’t hide behind lies and machinations to please the public - indeed, is often criticized for the way he is (truth), he seems to care about honor and fidelity (towards Mars, to his principles, to the Echelon), he doesn’t let things or people break him up (discipline), he invites ANYONE to his house, stalkers too, like Alina lol (hospitality), he puts all of himself into what he does (industriousness), he obviously has a big, big, big ego (self reliance), he does not stop until he gets what he wants (perseverance).
Last but not least, let’s go back to the figure of Odin, whose name, according to the Nordic religions, is linked to ‘ōðr’ which means ‘fury, excitement,’ but also ‘soul, POETRY, SONG, INSPIRATION, VOICE’; Odin is also associated with war, battle, victory and death.
Uhm.
War, battle, victory…
Doesn’t this remind you of an album we all know very well?
