Off-key for ‘Glee’

If you sing “Happy Birthday” around a “Glee” star, just make sure you’re in tune, people. The producers of Tribeca Film Festival movie “Struck by Lightning” wanted to surprise cast member Robbie Amell before the premiere Saturday. But when the actors joined in to sing “Happy Birthday,” the film’s star and screenwriter, Chris Colfer, couldn’t help coaching his cohorts by interjecting the lyrics, “Find your key-yyyy,” mid-song. “The room erupted in laughter,” said a spy.

“Oh my god, I love [Kathy Griffin] so much. She’s so funny and so much fun to be around – I’ve been a huge, huge fan since I was little and watching “Suddenly Susan.” She got me into a lot of trouble in high school because I would watch her stand-up specials and I always thought I could be like her, say whatever I want, whenever I wanted. Yea ... it didn’t work out like that for me, so I went through a lot because of her, but I can’t say enough good things about her. And apparently we’re still married. We spoke in front of an audience of gay youth and as a joke we got married on stage, but Adam Shankman – who directed the speeches – is actually ordained, so technically we’re married. I mean, we haven’t filed anything in the court system, but it was nice to see my wife again.”

“Today Chris announced plans to dabble in a fourth medium: literature. Little, Brown Books bought a proposal for two books from the multi-hyphenate -- the first of which is geared towards 8-12 year olds. And probably me, let's be real.”
