I need your help...

I need to ask you for a favour.

Two years ago, there was a massive tsunami in Japan. In Fukushima it hit the nuclear power plant. The earthquake took thousands of lives, but the suffering is still not over.

As we approach the second anniversary of the Fukushima disaster, I decided to write a short instrumental piece and make a video in order to raise awareness about the problems in Japan, to remind people that they have not simply disappeared. My mum’s over there at the moment and the place is in a terrible state. People are getting very sick. Kids in particular. With heart problems and thyroid problems related to the radiation.

I translated the video into 8 languages and uploaded them to YouTube at the weekend: I’m still working on Chinese and Korean versions.

The Japanese video has now received over 4,000 hits and I am delighted to say that the staff organising the London CND rally in March have asked if they can use the videos to help promote the event… how cool is that?!

Now comes the favour bit… you’re all passionate, caring human beings united by Tumblr. There are lots of you, and there’s one of me: a 16 year-old who wants to be heard. And you have an audience: people who listen to you because what you say is important to them.

THIS message is important to me. And if you think it is important too, I would be really grateful if you could tell your followers about it or add one of the links below.

I would also love to know what you think of the videos: I am delighted that they have produced such a positive response, but this is my first crack at working on something like this, so I would love your feedback.
