Introducing: Hell Yeah, Agender!
After noticing that there was such a small amount of information out there on being agender and an even smaller amount of places where agender people could go and talk about being agender, I decided to make this tumblr.
The purpose of Hell Yeah, Agender! is this: to share information about being agender, to offer useful posts and resources to agender people, and to also offer other agender people a place to go to share things about themselves and their experiences.
So! I’m taking submissions for all things agender related which includes, but is in no way limited to:
- Personal stories, videos, and pictures.
- Tips, advice, and tutorials.
- News stories, articles, and petitions.
- Recommendations for books, movies, fanfic, and TV shows that feature an agender character.
- Recommendations for agender music artists or songs about being agender.
- Meta about agender characters or the way agender people/being agender is portrayed in the media.
- Comics or memes about being agender.
- Resources and links that could be useful for agender people.
- So on and so forth.
I’m also looking for people to help run this tumblr, so please look at what I’m looking for and send me an ask if you’re interested. Also, suggestions for what else to do with this tumblr are totally welcome too.
I’m hoping that this tumblr will turn into something great and that eventually it will be a good resource for not only agender people, but also for people who are questioning whether or not they could be agender and also people who just want to know more about what it means to be agender.
That’s all for now. I hope everyone has a great night! :)
I really don't understand fellow binary trans* folks who accuse non-binary folks of just being "trendy"
The only special attention I’ve ever seen non-binary folks get is negative.
Then again, that’s always how it goes with LGBTQ+ identities sneeringly ridiculed for being “trendy.” It’s always the least popular, most made fun of identities.
It’s as if binary trans* people are terrified that non-binary people are going to like steal something from them. What the fuck are you afraid of?
If you call queer people special snowflakes based on their sexuality or gender identity, I am side-eying you so hard. Just because you don’t understand their identity doesnt mean it is fictional, and it doesn’t mean they’re egotistical. Thinking you have the right to erase identities and experiences is egotistical and pretty damn ‘special snowflake’y though.
Bonus points for queer on queer hate, as if we don’t have enough shit to deal with.
ATTENTION TRANS*/GENDERQUEER/AGENDER/NON-BINARY PEOPLE IN THE UK!
IF THIS INCLUDES YOU, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE FOR A SUPER SECRET SPECIAL MISSION/OPPORTUNITY.
IT INVOLVES WRITING.
ALL WILL BE REVEALED TO YOU SHOULD YOU WISH TO INQUIRE FURTHER.
PLEASE REBLOG TO SPREAD THE WORD.
I'm so done with people mocking gender identities.
STOP IT. You don’t have to fucking like the terms genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, bigender - YOU DON’T.
BUT DON’T MOCK THEM LOL.
Gender is a CONSTRUCT. What makes man and woman more legit than me saying I’m fucking fluid in my gender? I don’t FUCKING identify with any one gender. Sorry, not sorry that you fucking can’t wrap your head around how non binary people can’t identify the same as you. It’s not like you wouldn’t misgender us to insult or hurt us if we were binary anyway you fucking fucks.
I don’t understand what motivates a person to try to convince another person that their gender identity doesn’t exist, that their self-identification of their gender is invalid, or that their inner experience of their gender doesn’t matter.
Unless I am severely mistaken about the way the world works, there is literally nothing that can be gained from convincing (read: gaslighting) someone into believing that they are a different gender than they say they are. If you are trans and doing this, you are doing the exact same thing that cis people do to us.
white house petition to recognize non-binary genders.
petitions.whitehouse.gov“Legal documents in the United States only recognize ‘male’ and ‘female’ as genders, leaving anyone who does not identify as one of these two genders with no option. Australia and New Zealand both allow an X in place of an M or an F on passports for this purpose, and the UK recognizes ‘Mx’ (pronounced “Mix”) as a gender-neutral title.
This petition asks the Obama administration to legally recognize genders outside of the male-female binary, and provide an option for these genders on all legal documents and records.”
