Dawn's Peak and Potrero Ridge Trail

My second lesson on this long had road is Check the hours of the location you plan on visiting. Today’s hike was supposed to be two nice short trails that share a parking lot. One called Dawn’s Peak (AKA Tarantula Hill) and the other is the trail that is inside a botanic garden. I bet you can guess which one was closed… The botanic garden is only open until 5pm and with my work schedule today we didn’t end up out there until quarter after. So on the fly I had to figure out a nearby trail that was about the same difficulty as the trail we would have to hit up at another time. Luckily it is very early on in my quest and I can still remember the trails I had planned out. Flexibility is the key, in more than one sense of things. The weather was great and both trails were just challenging enough to keep me carrying on. I forgot my camera so I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to get them from my phone onto my blog. In the meantime check out the other hikes done so far and the maps that will soon be posted of today’s hikes!
