So today I went to the thrift store for fun because sometimes they have some pretty cool books. I was giggling over the ‘politically correct dictionary’ and the numerous books on breastfeeding from the 70s when I stumbled across this really cool spiral bound nature journal from 1981. Obviously I bought it (for $1 how could I pass that up?) and spent a good portion of the day reading through it.
It might be the single coolest thing I own right now. It’s got all these amazing drawings and notes and little stories and information about different species and whatnot.
And the best part is that the woman who made this journal lives a train and a subway away from me. I will probably never get my courage up to write her a letter and tell her how amazing she is but it makes me really happy to know that someone who lives really close to me is able to observe nature and learn through it even though they live in a city.
I’m not telling this story very well but it’s really cool alright? //grins like an idiot for forever//
