Nanny Rose's Queen Bee @elmerlapena

Eto ang bongga. A friend of mine just made her own brand. Paano ba naman lahat kami super avail sa kanya ng mga homemade chenes nya. ABOUT TIME NOH!

Since nakikiuso ako sa all organic, ayan! What I really like about this is that I saw how this came about. She started with her friends, since lahat ng friendships nya best in avail- hingi kami ng hingi. She had to make big batches na and eventually people we know were also asking for it na!

Now it’s available in WATSONS! :)

Congrats Mandy!

Nanny Rose Queen Bee Sticks and Pulls All Natural Hair Remover

Masochist. A word that i think would best describe me. Im a girl with small fears. I’ve gone through operations without anesthesia, had piercings on some parts aside from the ears, had several earrings during my grade-school years, tumbled, drowned, scarred and had hurt my self so many times but still endured pain even during my younger years.

Im also a fan of beauty , despite of the boy-ish things I did and played when i was young , I am more of a Kikay than a tomboy. I would save up just to buy perfumes , toiletries and other girly stuff. One thing that im so annoyed was being Hairy. Yes, hairy . I tried different kinds of methods just to get rid of unwanted hair . From plucking , shaving and  depilatory creams , I tested them all but to no avail gave up on them.

Going to college was a life transformation for me, that’s when i started buying cosmetics and tried to relive my unwanted hair removal addiction. This started when i met my friends Raymond and Jeanne, the Then-couple was very vain. Jeanne and I would go to slumber parties doing nothing but getting kikay . Her then boyfriend Raymond was a vain guy who joins competitions where guys and girls flaunt their abs and all those jazz. And even though hes a straight guy , i noticed he doesn’t have super hairy-curly legs, He Shaves! Thats when realization struck me. If this guy is vain enough to remove unwanted hair, then I should be more vain.

So i went back to shaving , and veeting and finally, WAXING. my 1st experience was at Forever Flawless in Sta. Lucia East Mall, I knew i had to leave this to the professionals this time. I had Brazilian and underarm waxing. It wasn’t that nerve racking but of course  since it was my 1st time , it took an hour to remove all the hair.   I would visit the salon every 3 months for my Brazilian wax and for my underarm, I DIY. Since i already experienced being waxed on this part, im sure that i can Do it my self , so i went to the local drugstores and bought a waxing kit. Back then , i would use , Epillin which is a hotwax.I also tried Glamworks and other wax that comes in a pot. For quite some time , I obsessed my self with hot wax , and yes , its painful , but its something you’ll be anticipating from time to time.

Then there comes Cold wax .I tried Cold Waxing year 2009, i would go to Laybare to have my Brazilian done. For me , this is faster and it hurts less than hot wax , but still im more of a hot wax girl. I love the extra pain it gives :)

Since i switched from hot to cold on my Brazillian , thought its about time from me to switch to cold on my underarm. So i raved the local drug stores and found one . Nanny Rose Queen Bee Sticks and Pulls All Natural Hair Remover . Since its Au Naturele , its an instant Pick me Up-er . I bought it and being the excited me , I didn’t read the instructions. hahah.

Its not that my first DIY cold waxing didnt go right , but it worked fine.Start off by showering. I skipped the part where i needed to put the pot inside the microwave oven, because as we all know Philippines is a tropical country and by that , it means that the whole country is like a big oven toaster, the wax melted by itself. so i went ahead and scoop a chunk of wax and lather it on my skin. Then you put the cloth on top of the wax you applied on you skin , the hair will stick to the wax and cloth and as you pull it off, it goes away with the wax. Easy huh ? nah. the problem with cold wax is that as it sticks to your skin , It melts . Unlike the hotwax, which becomes thick and hard after you apply it, the cold wax doesnt, and that means ,it can get Messy. So my trick is to keep pressing and pulling the cloth against your skin. Im not Sure if this is recommended, but it works for me. What i also do is to let the wax stay on your skin for a bit more seconds as it will naturally make the hair brittle and easy to pull off plus the longer it stays on the skin, the wax melts and will be gone in no time. Only that it gives that sticky feeling. And please remember not to take a shower or wash the area 8 hours after waxing.

I strongly suggest that if its your first time , go to a professional first like Laybare, Strip or Forever Flawless. and after your 1st session, If you feel like you can do it yourself, then go to Watsons or any drugstores and start waxing your self. It will help you save a few pennies plus its such an achievement to finally do stuff on your own. and of course, follow the instructions first then just go with experimenting when you get the hang of it.

Tell me whats your favorite wax brand , and your waxing experiences :) Id love to hear from you :)

Um, hello. It’s Thursday, and I too don’t understand why I’ve been away for quite some time. Yesterday was a friend’s wedding under the rain, so excuse my absence.

My summer odyssey is a little less than a week from now. It’s a bikini pleasure trip, so I decided to purchase a wax kit, Nanny Rose’s Queen Bee Stick & Pulls All Natural Hair Remover, to get rid of my leg hair. My legs are virgin, never before waxed, shaved, or depilated, so I’m kind of nervous not simply of the pain of stripping but also and most especially of the aftergrowth. I hope it won’t grow back thick and stingy. If the contents would allow, I will go Brazilian. I heard once you go Brazilian, you won’t go back! LOL. I’m actually … excited. ♥

Products I love!

I am no beauty blogger but I want to share to women, especially MOMS, the products I love that you might want to try. Every woman has issues with their skin and hair, even celebrities do. For us ordinary people, who can’t afford celebrity treatments there are a lot of products that can help use achieve much better skin and hair. Best thing about these products is that they are super affordable.

It’s called beauty for less!

I do have occasional breakouts before my period but at least these products help my skin to have lesser pimples, maybe one or 2 pimples a month. I also don’t have the perfect hair, my hair is actually frizzy if I don’t use these products. When I say frizzy, I mean sabog ang hair ko kung ordinary shampoo and conditioner ang ginagamit ko. I am not gifted when it comes to hair but I am blessed with good facial skin. I have skin issues in my arms too because I live in Baguio. I get a few bumps in my arms when it gets really cold. It’s like goose bumps, but their semi permanent. I can’t get rid of them totally. I was able to get rid of them once using St. Ives Clear Pore Body Wash but that body wash is not sold anymore, so they came back.

I don’t use make up or go to the spa for treatments. My sister told me to never use make up because make-up will make me mature. I’m baby face daw kasi. Chos! When I go to the salon I only go there to get a haircut. So I just buy products that I can use at home at the same time are inexpensive.

These products keep my skin clearer and my hair more manageable.

I have a combination skin on my face. That means that my t-zone is oily and my cheeks are dry. For my face I just use Ponds facial wash and I moisturize with St. Ives Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer because my cheeks get flaky. That means they’re very dry. I love this moisturizer because it has collagen. I have used this moisturizer in my tummy to minimize stretch marks after I gave birth and it really worked. This product keeps my facial skin supple all day long. I use these two, twice a day, in the morning and before bed.

This facial wash really works in minimizing black heads. This is only around P165 and I have been using this for 3 months now. It’s so sulit! (Available at supermarkets and drug stores.)

This moisturizer is P235 a jar. It’s really big so I use for a long time. I think I use one jar for 3-5 months. Another sulit product! (Available at Watson’s and Tiong San)

The package arrived yesterday and me and my mama opened the package together. She was as excited as I am. :D

Look how cute this packaging is! :) The floral prints and the eco friendly fabric is a lovely touch and I think it’s pretty unique.

It has everything you need for the summer. I especially love the lip balm because it  effectively smoothens my chappy lips and unlike other brands that I have tried, is non-greasy. :) The Hand + Elbow Salve was my mom’s favorite though. I think she fell in love with how it smells!

I haven’t tried the waxing kit yet. But from what I read online, there are a lot of girls who are enjoying this product. Now, all I need to do is muster some courage to try waxing for the very first time! :D Haha. I’m such a scaredy cat. But that’s the truth right there. I have never done it on me ever.
