We're just gonna ignore tonight's episode (as a matter of fact - just pretend that TVD got cancelled after 2x18) and talk about Little Bird for a sec.

(This post isn’t as long as I thought it would be, but omg the feels.)

Oh, shit. Here comes the tears and I haven’t even started. So y’all know that in the books Bonnie is Damon’s little bird right? Well, in my mind, this can fit in the show, too. Like… How do I start?

If we take this bird in, with it’s broken leg,

Imagine Bonnie and Damon coming to terms with their differences (and similarities) and start to actually understand each other. Soon, that understanding turns into a friendship and then that friendship blossoms into something more, but they’re being careful about it. It feels so nice.

Come inside for a little home made tea, 
And if you fall asleep, then at least your next to me, 
And if I wake up, say it’s late love, get back to sleep, 
I’m covered by nature and I’m safe now,

At this point, they’re truly falling for each other. They’ve connected in such sweet way and all they need is to be next to each other. They’ve finally found the love that they’ve been lacking all their lives. It’s just amazing.

But after all the shit they’ve been through, they can’t help but be insecure. omg somebody hold me Damon does something shitastic and Bonnie regrets that she ever let the wall around her heart down.

Damon mans up and realizes what a good thing they had going. He can’t let it go and Bonnie gives him another chance. They’re both damaged, so they’re not gonna jump into it so quickly but it’s love. Damon’s finally found a true love because BONNIE IS HIS LITTLE BIRD AND HE KNOWS IT.
