byutv.orgThis is a really cool show produced by BYUtv (Brigham Young University Television, you know… the Mormons!). Each episode focuses on a different musical artist and talks about their influence and musical journey. It culminates in a performance of the song that changed the artist’s life.
In Sondre Lerche’s episode, he talks about listening to A-ha as a kid and starting to write songs, and some highlights from his career. In between conversation, we see some great acoustic performances. He then reveals the song that changed his life: Prefab Sprout’s “Lion In My Own Garden (Exit Someone)”. He describes how, after he released his first album, Faces Down, one reviewer commented that it was “obvious” he listened to Prefab Sprout, but he had never even heard of them. So he got a copy of their first single and instantly felt a connection to the song and the songwriter.
His acoustic version of the song at the end of the episode is really amazing.

Swedish synthpop group Postiljonen channel chill beachy vibes in their single “Supreme” from their debut album Skyer. If you’re in Scandinavia, you can already snag the record, but the rest of us have to wait until it is released worldwide July 22. Check out the video for “Supreme” and pre-order the album here.
I couldn’t leave out another of Postiljonen’s feel-good summer tunes, watch the video for the track “We Raise Our Hearts.”
