Nine motif ideas

There are a lot of stories with characters, places, or events which represent the seven deadly sins, the signs of the zodiac, or the muses of Greek mythology.  If you want a motif that hasn’t been done to death, but isn’t impossibly obscure, here are some suggestions.

Note: a motif can be a single thing as well.  These are for if you want a motif including several different objects.

• The four gospel authors (one of the few relatively unused biblical motifs)
• Extant plays of Sophocles
• The Orishas
• Galaxies in the Local Group
• Similarly, groups in the Virgo Supercluster
• Geologic eras and periods
• Chapters ofThe Art of War
• Fur, feathers, scales, and skin
• Legendary swords from various stories/cultures
