I do not like eggs.

But to get my daily recommended intake of protein I have to eat them like 3-4 days a week now. :(

This whole “I’m off meat” thing sucks.

Any advice for getting enough protein?

(besides shakes…cause *gag*)

Meat.

Apparently I can’t make a comment online about eating fake meat because meat eaters everywhere think it’s gross that I don’t eat flesh as I often as I used to.

You know what’s really gross? The way meat is slaughtered. The way that animals are cared for in factory farms (sorry, the way they aren’t cared for). Fifty chicks going through a grinder at once—alive, screaming. Human sweat that happens from the rampant global warming that’s been caused by thousands of cows passing gas at one time. The slightly regulated meat on the back of a truck that’s only partially refrigerated on its way to a fast food restaurant. The constipation that develops because you haven’t had a single fibrous thing to eat in three days.

I eat meat, but not every day. And these are the reasons why. You can have your steak and eat it, too, but isn’t it more rewarding when it’s quality every single time?

On a completely unrelated note, I am going to Portland this weekend to eat a ton of meat and drink gallons of beer. “But Flo you said meat is bad.” Not in Oregon, it ain’t. DELICIOUS FOOD FOR THE WIN.

God I love food.

New study proves that meatless diets can provide 100% of nutritional needs

When I first told my family that I was going to eat healthier and a lot less meat, to the point that I am now mostly vegetarian, they didn’t really understand it. My dad, in particular, didn’t think that I could get all of my dietary needs by eating mostly plants and grains.

But now I can show him proof that, despite most of us Latinos growing up in a meat-heavy culture, maintaining a well-planned, plant-based diet is just as healthy for us (both as kids and as adults), thanks to new findings published by the Medical Journal of Australia Open… Read more here
