a girl keeps waking up every morning with branches and leaves growing out of her hands and fingers and no matter how often she clips them off they grow back bigger and it starts to hurt, then one day her torso starts hardening and chipping like bark so to protect her vanity she runs into a forest and lets her roots burrow into the dirt, watching as her skin hardens and her limbs grow more and more branches and leaves until they cover her face

a little kid who finds a monster friend sitting in seven or eight apartment mail slots. the monster looks a lot like seven or eight mice, but instead of hiding under the floor and eating from the pantry, it hides in the little kid's legs and feet and whispers that they can run and run really fast. the little kid does run and run really fast, and when the monster gets a tiny bit tired of being seven or eight mice in a little kid's legs, it crawls up into the little kid's eyes and ears and chest.

So I was thinking about how I’m a demon who nobody offline (and not a shitload of people online) knows is a demon, and a lot of my friends are similar sorts of things, and I realized.
You know those shows where there’s all monsters and aliens and vampires on Earth, living as normal people and trying to mask their secrets from humanity? Yup, that’s us.
