Giant squid
I’ve always been interested in marine life especially with deep sea creatures. In fact, marine biology is my back-up major if animal science doesn’t work out for whatever reason.
I didn’t know that discovery channel had a segment on the giant squid until I was just passing through the channels. As soon as I saw “Monster Squid” I just HAD to stop and watch it.
I swear when I saw the giant squid’s tentacles around the bait, I got CHILLS. I’ve always believed the giant squid was real. I like to think that crazy creatures of monstrous sizes live deep in the ocean that are beyond our wildest dreams. My sister and her boyfriend were watching the documentary as well and I kept filling them in on random giant squid facts that I knew from other documentaries and research.
Today, my boyfriend called me. He is in the Navy. He was telling me how when they go underway, their entire fleet goes and that includes the submarines. Then I asked him “do you think the people in the submarine have seen a giant squid?” and he chuckled and said “oh babe, you’re so funny”. As ridiculous as that question may be, them submarines are all the way at the bottom of the ocean for super long periods of time. I’m SURE they’ve seen some crazy stuff! :)
The Giant
dsc.discovery.comThe Discovery Channel series Curiosity had its season finale last night. It was two hours long and filled with commercials but it was all worth it. I don’t even know where to start. I drooled over the submersibles they built and was fascinated by the animals and life that’s 2200 feet below the sea level, not to mention the 10-foot long giant squid. It’s better to watch this with your own eyes. Science is simply great!
