So, I'm beginning to question the sanity of everyone in the greater PDX area.
I moved out of the hostel a few days ago into a house with a mom, her 25-year old daughter, and their fat dachshund/terrier mix. The room I will be renting is occupied until the 1st, so I’m staying in the daughter’s room as she’s away on vacation.
Last night, the couple that is staying in my soon-to-be room asked if I wanted to go on a walk to see the neighborhood. Yeah, sure!
As we were leaving, the mom, who hadn’t left the couch all day as she was doing nothing but watching TV, told us not to get into any trouble as she had taken a valium and wouldn’t bail us out of jail. Great.
The couple said some pretty choice things as well. The girl started off by saying that they agree on everything and never argue. Then proceeded to argue at least 4 times. Also, that she wants all of her students (she’s a teacher) to have Communist binders and if every binder isn’t exactly the same, they’ll get a kick to the face. And no smiles for her students until Christmas, and only then because, well, it’s Christmas.
And last, but not least, my coworker had a salad for lunch that was garnished with fresh flower petals. And by garnished with, I mean that the salad was iceberg lettuce and pink flowers.
Wait, one more. The local bar here has shuffleboard. I kid you not.
In other news, there are amazing bands coming here soon. Modest Mouse, Neko Case, The Watson Twins, My Morning Jacket, Alison Krauss, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, Arctic Monkeys, Adele, Tally Hall. Katy Perry?! Alkaline Trio?!
The Decemberists with Okkervil River are coming 10 days after I leave and Sondre Lerche came yesterday. GUTTED.
All forms of donations are accepted to the River-needs-to-go-see-all-of-these-shows charity fund. Because, let’s be real, I am indeed a charity case.
To followers or others that order-
We need the money ASAP in order for us to order. We cannot get the shirts until we show them we have the money to print them off. If we get enough money before Saturday, it is possible we can ship them off earlier then planned. But this CANNOT happen unless you help participate!
On the other hand, with the money order, we cannot get a PO box until this Saturday, so all orders placed before Saturday will be send to one of the addresses that one of the owners will send you. Then you would send your money order to the address. If possible, in the money order, we would love for you to write down your order, size, style, name, email, phone, and address for us to make the process go much faster!
