Poker Night: Old Man Bros

It was late, almost morning when Moirin was awoken by a soft popping noise.

“Once…is that you?”  She rubbed her eyes as she looked up at her husband, but then sat up in the bed.

“Once…what happened to you?”  Ghost was standing there in his boxers,  looking like he had been caught in an act.

“Eternal took my clothes.” he sighed out, looking up sheepishly at his wife.

“What do you mean Eternal has your clothes?  Why would he have them?”  By now his wife had gotten out of bed and was walking over to the dresser, grabbing him a pair of pajama pants.

“We were playing poker.”  he took the pants she handed him and slid them on, then followed her to the bed.

“But I don’t understand why you don’t have your clothes.”  She curled up around him, letting his arms wrap around her.

“We were playing strip poker.  I lost.  I think Tumb-ler cheats.”

“Well, I’ll have to fix that later tonight.”  she said before the pair fell asleep.

The next night Moirin went over to the guardian’s tent and challenged him to a game with his lover.

Moirin left with all of their clothing, the boys getting nothing of hers.

Before the Fall: Portal AU

Something with the characters before all the crazy happened.

“Bicklebaum Laboratories, please hold for a moment.”

“No sir, Dr. Bicklebaum is busy for the rest of the day.  He will be free again tomorrow if you want to call back then.”

“Yes Mr. McBean, we will replace the defective item as long as you send it back along with the warranty sheet.”

Miss Moirin gave a sigh as she placed the phone back down, grabbing a few papers before standing up and walking over to the door of the CEO of Bicklebaum Laboratories.  She knocked on the door, but then entered, not waiting for his reply.  She chuckles to see him at his desk, snoring slightly with a pen still in his hand

Core Transfer in Process: Portal AU

The woman and the machine were locked in a staring battle as Ghost was thrown out of the tube and into the lair, bumping into all the turret parts that scattered the ground.

“Alternate core detected.”  The voice said as Ghost landed, a small nervous smile growing on his face.

“What?  You’re still alive? You always did have a knack of escaping death.”  She glared down at the android, a sneer on her face.

“To initiate a core transfer, please deposit substitute core in receptacle.”  The voice said again, and it was Ariel’s turn to smile as a small platform raised itself up, cords unfurling to show it was a hook-up point.

Naamah's Kiss

image

I literally could cry. If Jacqueline Carey was ever to stop writing, I really don’t know what I would do. There wouldn’t be anything as amazing to interest me. Again, I will bow down to you Carey, love as thou wilt and kiss the ground you walk on, as you are my Queen. This devotion probably doesn’t sound healthy to you reading this, but if you have not ever read, starting from the beginning, the Kushiel’s Legacy by Jacqueline Carey, then you do not understand the joy and happiness and intense passion  bond to them. Therefore, I recommend that you do.
Centuries after the lives of Phedre no Delaunay and Imriel de la Courcel we are introduced to Moirin of the Maghuin Dhonn, the bear-goddess, but she also has other strange gods claiming her as their own as well. She embarks on a journey, which is more important that the destiny which she is bond to. With her small gifts and the blessing of the goddess Naamah, the goddess of desire and pleasure, Moirin goes to places where powerful mages wield and a celestial being is trapped in the mortal flesh of a Ch’in princess. Moirin learns a lot of desire and destiny, but the gods are known to use their chosen hard and Moirin faces a lot of hardship on the way.
Jacqueline Carey once again spins a beautiful, compelling and powerful tale, plunging us into the depths of desire and pleasure in the forms of friendships, kindness and passion. I always have to commend Carey on her characters, as they are each the most interesting and the one thing that I believe drives all her tales. Her characters are seriously the most powerful in their kind, and in each there is something to admire and surely love. My heart aches. They are seriously powerful. It is not only this but also the imagery Carey provokes, are spectacular and beautiful.
I really recommend these books, you could pick up and start with any trilogy, but it wouldn’t be right. I think it is much better to start from the beginning and because they all link together perfectly.
Carey, please come to London and do a singing, I would surely cry before you, but I would love to pick your mind and have a lovely chat with you over a lovely cup of tea.

“Tell me, where does it end? With this greater purpose you perceive? Are you a minor character in my story, or am I a lesser figure in yours?" "I don't know my lady" I murmured. "I suppose it depends on who is telling the tale.”

—Snow Tiger and Moirin, “Naamah’s Kiss”, Jacqueline Carey.

OOC: Djinn's servant and alternate timelines

Okay, so I just thought of this:
1.) I don’t want anyone to be disappointed: I want Djinn to have her servant, but I want Ghost to stay himself.
2.) Timelines are very tricky… So here’s the solution:
—-
When Moirin goes back in time, her interactions in the past create an alternate dimension— therefore, there is one dimension where Ghost is a slave, and one where he isn’t. We can use these as we used Diana— give Ghost another name, and have him travel to Djinn’s dimension, where he stays with her. So…. In a sense, there is now a Ghost clone.

Hello, there! -smiles- I don't think we've met. I'm Moirin. Moirin McGillicuddy.

Good day to you, Miss Moirin. I-It’s a pleasure.

They call me, Mischiev-ler. And they had a good reason to… in the past.

Now it’s but an empty name.

*He points to the darker side of his face*

This is Plant-ler.. but it seems he doesn’t take a liking to speech at all. I’ve never heard him introduce himself on his own. I speak for the both of us.
