One of the cooler services available to modern musicians is Mobile Roadie, which lets you build really slick mobile apps on iPhone and other platforms for your own band.
There’s a good tour on their site, but some people complain about the price of the software. I see what they mean, but sometimes quality costs.
Fortunately, there’s a discreet way to get a 10% discount on the sign-up price which isn’t publicised, and I’ll share it here. Just don’t go telling everyone.

Tips for using Push Notifications

It’s a bit iPhone-centric (and iPhone notifications are very limited) but it makes a good case for why pushed messages from apps can actually be quite useful and not a blanket spamming of subscribers. It’s all about location.
