I know the link says her name is Fuzie. That was her name before I adopted her. I also know that this is a long post, but please bear with me. She is very, very important to me and I want to share with you just how important she is and what kind of dire straits she’s in.

Georgia Mae came into my life while I was working at an exhausting job and in a lonely apartment with little socialization. I wasn’t at the lowest point in my life, but I was close. I was in the Traverse City PetsMart during late summer after work, sweaty and feet aching, looking to get an idea for a pet. Finally I saw her in a woman’s arms, snoring loudly even as a baby. I fell in love immediately, and adopted her on the spot.

The months flew by, with many puppy pee accidents and late-night barking and breaking out of the playpen to utterly decimate my recyclable aluminum cans. Even so, I loved her more each day and looked forward to our walks, our cuddle time on the couch, and her puppy smooches. My loneliness was getting better. I had given someone a home. I got to take care of someone.

When it was time to get her spayed, I noted that she had a much more difficult time walking, breathing, and keeping down food. I thought it was just part of the healing process, until it went on for months after.

She continued to get worse.

At first I blamed the veterinary clinic who did the operation, but it turns out that the surgery wasn’t (entirely) to blame, though it didn’t help. Her hip disfigurement and luxating patella are genetic due to the mixing of her breeds. There are other things that are impeding her quality of life (a collapsed trachea if I remember correctly, though I could be mistaken), but since it is not included in the link I’m assuming it cannot be fixed with surgery.

I want my baby to be able to walk again. I love her.

I want her back.

She can be helped. All it takes is money, which I do not have.

Please help me. Help me get her fixed so I can bring her home from the shelter, home where she belongs.

Any amount is helpful.

Thank you for reading this far. If you cannot donate any money yourself, please signal boost this around. It is so important.
