A Typical Day On a Mission Trip: A Summary

HURRY UP everybody gosh dang it why are you teenagers so SLOW

HURRY, hurry up, move -

now WAITTT! EVERYBODY STOP! We don’t know what we’re doing - we aren’t supposed to be here. JUST BE QUIET AND WAIT.

Oh, let’s sit on the bus for 20 minutes. Stop complaining that you didn’t have time to brush your teeth, you should have gotten up earlier and hurried.

HURRY UP we’re late thanks to you sitting on the bus for 20 minutes! HURRY. GO. What is wrong with you?

HURRY UP AND WAIT!!!

Zambia

Hello! I saw that you and your husband are going to Zambia in the next couple months…I am leading a trip of students there this summer! Where are you going? How long are you staying? AND WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP YOU? :)

-Anna Marie Smith

That’s so awesome, what part of Zambia will you be in this summer? We are so excited to go!! Have you been before? Anyway, to answer YOUR questions:

I’m not exactly sure what we’ll be doing yet. I know we’ll be working with a missionary family that lives there. I think we’ll mainly be doing stuff in a village that is in a bush area. Last I heard, though, the details weren’t quite set yet. But I’ll definitely be updating with more details after our first meeting, or when I get more info (whichever comes first). We’ll be there from the end of December until the middle of January. The most important thing you can do, of course, is pray for us on our trip, and that the hearts of the people there will be prepared to hear the Gospel. If you would like to help out financially, I can give you more information on how to do that, also:)

Thank you so much for sharing and for you interest in helping us!!

I only have ten weeks until I leave for Nicaragua. I'm so excited that I actually get to do something that matters in this world. It just feels like a dream. <3

So if you guys want to pray for me and my team on our trip, it would be much appreciated. We’re going down there with Feed the Children and a local doctor to set up a clinic to give out food, shoes, bowls, spoons, medicine, and vaccines. Six months ago I had no idea I would be a part of anything like this. It’s amazing what doors God will open for you if you just ask Him to give you the opportunity to help. (:

Hey guys! I was just wondering if any of you would donate to help my mom go to Haiti this year with our church. If you aren’t able to donate, prayers are appreciated as well! She was incredibly impacted by last years trip and really wants to go back. We know that God will provide a way and I know that tumblr can do amazing things!

“Late this year, December 28-January 4, our team of teenaged and adult missionaries will go to spend a week in a Haitian village called Bayonnais located in the mountains of Haiti north of Port Au Prince. Our primary mission will be to share the love of Jesus Christ with the children and families in and around a Christian school run by International Christian Development Mission. I am no longer in the teens!

My birthday was on Saturday and I have to say this was probably the best birthday yet.

I woke up and got ready to go to the gym for a two hour Zumba party. If you know me you know that I am addicted to Zumba and have been doing it for about three years. Brittany, my best friend came, which made it even better. I got home and prepared my birthday dinner (taco soup). It is the best winter meal ever! I also made lemon blossoms the day before. (If you like lemon then this recipe is for you…they were a hit and were gone in less than three days) Then I relaxed for a few hours until Brittany came back over. She baked me a cake; I will post a picture soon. Then we played two games on the Kinect: Fruit Ninja and Kinect Sports. The next two days I was so sore. We ate dinner and then we opened presents. Although I only got three presents, I was and am very grateful. I got a black cross-body purse. Unfortunately I am exchanging it because it was too sort, or I am just too tall. I also got two tank tops (I have to wait until spring to wear them) from Kohls, one of my favorite stores. Lastly I got money for my Belize trip.

I knew I was going to ask my family and friends for money for my mission trip this summer. I was skyping with my mom and she asked me what I wanted for my birthday. It would be the main present. I told my mom that I wanted money. She told me that it would probably be one-hundred dollars or less. That is what I expected. I opened the card and saw the check, but I never like to look at the amount in front of other people. I appreciate that they are supporting me and do not care about the actual amount. I have only told a couple of people about my trip. Mainly my friends from school, my immediate family, and my two best friends. Three people have donated already: one of my best friends, my sister’s boyfriend (who went to Belize on a mission trip before), and my mom. With just those three people I have raised $570! God is AMAZING! I was and still am worried about asking people for money but I know that God with provide.

God is what made my birthday so amazing. I am blessed and cannot wait to see what this year brings.
