After the first shopping trip gone wrong but then beautifully gone right, Dean decides to stock Cas’ wardrobe with an assortment of colourful ties, sweaters, and sweater-vests. When Cas discovers the new amendments to his closet and their account, he’s definitely more amused than confused.

“Here I thought you were indulging my tastes, but clearly you have some untapped desires here, Dean.” Cas smirks. He’s learning the art of smirking far too quickly for Dean’s taste. 

“Hey,” Dean says, walking over to pluck the purple tie hanging loosely out of Cas’ hand, and begins tie it around his neck for him. He smirks back. “I never went to college, I never got the chance to seduce a professor. So yeah, maybe I dig the whole get up a little.”

Cas raises an eyebrow. “Surely you mean ‘I never got the chance to seduce a professor while also being a student’.” He knew enough of Dean’s sexual history by now to safely assume as much.

“Well, yeah,” Dean concedes.

“In that case, I should inform you that I’m unfortunately not your professor, Dean, nor are you my student.”

“Ah,” Dean grins, straightening the knot at the base of Cas’ collar. “But at least you look the part now.”

“It’s a shame then,” Cas sighs, straightening as Dean steps back to admire his handiwork.

“Hmm?” he wordelessly inquires, too caught up in the delectable sight of Cas before him.

“You went to all the trouble of cleanly dressing me, when I’m afraid these clothes are now liable to get rather dirty.”

Dean’s train of thought promptly derails completely.

it gets a bit awkward after that cuz cas is his professor and they shouldn’t do this. the semester’s ending in a few weeks so they decide they should wait (cas gaves him his phone number so they can text) for dean those weeks feel like a whole year.

sometimes dean just lays in bed talking to cas, texting him, and cas has never really texted a lot of people before. sure, his brother gabriel texts him all the time, but usually he calls him, his cousin anna sends him a few texts now and then, but no one’s ever texted him as much as dean has. and dean stays up all hours of the night talking to cas, and cas just tells him to go to bed because they both has classes tomorrow, but dean tells him that he doesn’t want to, that he just wants to talk to him all of the time, so cas gives up and they’re both worn out the next day from only getting just a couple of hours of sleep
