Steam Powered Ponies Part 3: Micheal Phillip Reed
Hehehe, looks like I’m at it again. I’ll put these under a cut becuase its A: gonna be a long post and B: I know not everyone wants to see the shitty art/craft things I do.
This is what the original mold looked like. There was a small pony tail that I chopped off with my exacto knife. I picked this mold becuase of the mane and the glasses. The structure of the face also reminded me a little bit of Micheal.
One coat of primer and a “hair cut” letter.
I based the color off of the bracelet for Micheal that is available in the SPG store.
The little neck thing is black and the scarf thingy is red, classic SPG color scheme. I made his glasses the same color as the ones Micheal wears in the “See SPG Live at La Jolla” video.
A few coats of brown later, his mane and tail are painted! Micheal was really easy to do. I didn’t have to do eyes for him because of the glasses. My heart sunk a little bit, but those glasses are one of the many things I associate with Micheal. His cutie mark is a single eighth note. This would symbolize general musical talent, based on the fact that Micheal is the “One Man Band”.
