the number of people i saw today who simply did not understand why mexican karkat kind of rubbed people entirely the wrong way is appaling

hey i have an idea. why don’t you guys have your people and your culture dehumanized for the sake of humor and see how you like it

you are totally free to do this kind of thing

but to act surprised when people get all “huffy” and take a blasé attitude about it just because “you’ll offend someone anyway” is ignorant and turns a blind eye to exactly why people are so hurt in the first place when you do things like this (here is a hint; it is because we have been made fun of for a long time now)

“mexican” karkat was offensive

but the sneering reaction to people who were reasonably offended by it was even more disgraceful

some of you will skim over this in your dash. others will laugh at me being so “butthurt” over this. hopefully this will sink into someone’s head. that’s all i ask.

and with that, i am done with this moral heavy lifting for the day. imma go play some starfox or something now.
