A Strange Guy on the Bus...

was wearing a Nirvana shirt the other day. So naturally I sat next to him and we discussed our reasons why we love Nirvana.

I asked him his all-time favorite song and he replied, “Pennyroyal Tea”. He told me he loved it because even the title was interesting. Actual Pennyroyal Tea (commonly drank in Asia) was known to be a type of truth serum way back when.

But if you look at the words more closely, the title has a whole other meaning. “Penny Royalty” or being poor. The concept of the title alone draws me into Kurt Cobain’s mind. These are just one of the many songs I can’t live without.

I never saw the guy again-but he blew my mind.
