Observation of meteorological phenomena in the fourteenth century.
Harley MS 3487, f. 140v. -
I'm a little scared about the Atmospheric Science class I have to take next semester.
I need to talk it over with Snodgrass (yes, that is actually his name) but so far, all of my options look so daunting.
Also…so far, I am taking one journalism class and three science classes next semester.
For gen eds, I think we are only required to take 6 credit hours of science. I currently have 16 hours and taking even more next semester.
I have got to sort out my priorities…or switch majors.

Weather - the universal conversation

Why is the weather so fascinating? Every single person on this Earth has inquired about it this week, or chatted with a stranger about it within the last two. Weather is the universal conversation. Kind of mundane, but powerfully unifying.
I love a good thunderstorm. It is a close second to snow falling in the early morning, gently covering the barren tree limbs and painting the once colorful world a pristine shade of white. Those are the two things I miss most about living in the Northeast (family excluded). I moved to Los Angeles for many reasons, year round sunshine being in the top ten. However, the lack of weather does things to a person. Every day from late April until mid October starts to feel the same. Sometimes the sun comes out at 5am, and sometimes the ocean haze keeps it hidden until 10 or 11. Sometimes its 68 and sometimes its 76, but always sunny. Perpetually sunny. This is definitely a blessing! The sun is invigorating, inspiring, life affirming, energizing, and yet something just feels off at times when every day might as well have been yesterday or next week.
And when the weather is almost always the same, conversations about the weather start entering uncharted territory. “Oh it’s only going to be 70 tomorrow, guess its not really a beach day after all,” or “I hate June Gloom (morning haze). The sun isn’t out until noon at the earliest!” Ninety percent of the world’s population would smack someone who dared to voice either of those opinions based solely on the fact that they pray for those problems on a daily basis. It’s what makes Southern California a paradise. It’s also what makes the people here infinity unique.
We can’t help ourselves but talk about the weather, even in Southern California when it’s fluctuations are hardly conversation worthy everywhere else. But everyone has to discuss the weather! It’s a rule of being a human. You eat, sleep, do number one and number two (even the ladies), and talk about the weather. Its our universal conversation, no matter how boring, how repetitive, or how ridiculous. I mean we all know what its like outside because we are outside. So saying to the person next to you, oh wow its hot, is like climbing into a pool and talking about how wet the water is. If you’re outside you know its hot, on hot days, and I would hope if you were in the pool you would realize you were wet.
Well its another sunny day! Haha, love it. I’m thinking tennis. Sick Little Piggie’s love weather, especially when its boring and sunny.

Why is June the best month ever?
Because it’s tornado AND hurricane season.
