Measurements are so much more rewarding when it comes to documenting your weight loss. When you see yourself everyday, it can be a bit hard to notice the chances that are in fact occurring in your body’s appearance. For example:

When I started the Oblivious October Challenge the circumference around my belly button measured at 90cm. By the end of the month it was down to 80cm. I lost 2 kilograms during this time as well but I never really noticed much of a difference. What I did noticed a difference in was my measurements!!! I started November with the circumference of my belly button measuring at 80cm and now it is down to 74cm and I have lost another 2 kilograms. In total that is a loss of 4 kilograms and 16cm from my belly.

When I started losing weight, I would check the scales like mental, hoping that my weight had dropped. When I saw the same number I always felt so disheartened. I wish I had understood how beneficial taking your measurements could be when I decided to start losing weight. It would have been amazing to see the total difference when I get to my goal weight.

I recommend everyone to hunt down a tape measure and give it a go. It is a great motivator to keep you going and stopping you from getting upset when the scales don’t seem to be going down. Remember its all about hard work and determination. Don’t dishearten yourselves when things get tough, keep going and stay strong :)

Nifty!

Not…not sure if that’s how you spell that….BUT in any case, I hope some of you find this useful in your cooking and baking adventures!

Hey there! I was thinking of making this coca-cola cake that you posted, but the measurements are all in metric. Do you have a way to make it into US?

This should be helpful:

I cant believe I have gone a whole month without weighing myself. I honestly did not think I would make it through the first couple of days, let alone the first week.

Anywho, I am extending ‘Oblivious October’ till Saturday 6th of November because my weigh in day is normally Saturdays. I am also going to take my measurements again to see how much process I actually made and take a photo to see if I can notice any of the changes. I really do not know what to expect. I am actually a little scared to be getting on the scales again to tell you the truth. Hope everyone is doing amazing, you guys are the best!! xo

Measurements

Bust-35 inches

Waist-26 inches

Hips-35 1/2

Lets see how much these change.

measurements

Aren’t really my thing. I wanted to take them every week but was really discouraged to see no changes even when the weight was going down. Today I decided to take them though. It’s been two months and I knew I wouldn’t be trying to stretch out the tape or anything since the numbers have to have gone down by now.

And guess what?! They did! :)

Bust:   38 inches  37 inches (-1)
Waist:  33 inches 30 inches (-3)
Hips:   44.4 inches   42 inches (-2.4)
Thighs: 25.5 inches 24.5 inches (-1)
Neck:    13.5 (0)

That’s a loss of 7.5 inches from just the places I’ve measured!
Now If only I can lose this last pound and get down to a loss of 20 pounds! I feel like after this things will only get harder.

Was just told I'm an hourglass

In some form… I was with my baby cousin who said: “Kirsten you have big boobies and your hips are *he blows a raspberry and holds his hands out* but you are so skinny in the middle… your like the thing Jafar puts Jasmin in!”

Hourglass buddy. An hourglass.

Somehow this is the best compliment I’ve received in the past little while.
