Okay, so i’m all for straight cis allies coming to a queer conference to learn. But if you’re going to going to come to a queer conference and then complain because you can’t find a straight guy to hook up with, then my patience goes out the window pretty fucking quickly.
If the only place you have #straight probs is at a queer conference, do you realize what that means? It means that that queer conference is the only place that we don’t have #queer probs.
Just think about that for like two seconds, please.

I am writing to say that you all left such a powerful impression on me. I felt, in that room, that we had created a space big enough, wide enough, open enough, accepting enough for us ALL. This is the world I want to live in: one where we don’t compete for scarce space or for the one spotlight, where we don’t try to bring other people over to OUR position or identity, but rather meet each other where and how we are. Where difference is understood to be a positive value. Thank you for being so open, so honest, so brave.

In our culture, being feminine is associated with being “female,” but what happens when feminine people identify as something else? Whether you are trans*, male, non-binary, fluid, or one of limitless identities, we all face our own unique challenges as non-female people with feminine expressions. In this workshop, we will discuss our experiences being femme; break down the issues that we face; share how we negotiate cultural spaces, including public perceptions, privilege, language, and empowerment; and talk about how fun it is to be femme!
