I absolutely love the Jet Set Radio soundtrack, and the most recent release cemented that fact. I also goddamn love the Beastie Boys, so hey why not? Both elements are known for their overuse of samples to create their sounds, so I guess that’s the connective tissue I’m using to justify this.

Andrew Bird x Aesop Rock x Equalibrum
Decided I’m going to finish the Andrew Bird x Aesop Rock mashup album. Being three tracks deep besides this intro… Aesops raps with beats comprised of Andrew Bird samples just sounds way too good not to do an entire album of it. The album will be free obviously. As a teaser here is the intro that I started. There is an Andrew Bird video on my page right below this post if you do not know who he is. I’m assuming you know who Aesop Rock is if you follow hip-hop. If not look for both of these artists at your local music store, iTunes, YouTube, Pandora and etc to catch up.

The White Panda - Pandamonium
The White Panda is one of the best mashup groups out there, in my opinion. These two guys have mastered the art of mashup music. I still remember way back in the day when my family rolled around town in a super old school, tri-colored Suburban that only had a tape deck and my sister would play “mix tapes” that she created. About 30 seconds from each song for an entire tape. Thank god we’ve at least reached a point where we can blend songs and make them sound good. My sisters tapes were miserable. It’s okay though, I think she’ll admit to that, too.
