On Magical Girl Hate (and why it's the most idiotic thing ever)

Alright tumblr, you’re about to face my wrath, because today I read another long post on exactly why magical girls are bad and evil and anti feminist. The difference about this one from all the other fifty million or so I’ve read is that this particular rant had citations and decent points instead of simply stating “omg bad body image!!!!!! why are all the girls wearing skirts!!!!!1 why no boys?” I figured that due to this momentous occasion, I should actually come up with a decent, well thought out response.

Choose your event

Anyone who’s been following us for over six months knows we used to do a LOT of events. We slacked off for a while, but I think that with Trivia 2013 and the recent emergence of major audience participation, it’s time to do some more! I came up with some ideas. Pick one of these, or place your own idea in the answer box.

1. Ask the Mods day. Ask any of the four modical girls your most ridiculous questions all day long. 

2. Caption contest. We pick a ridiculous picture. You say something funny about it.

3. Good Fanfiction Friday. An ongoing event where one really awesome fanfic from any magical girl show is featured on the blog.

4. Create a Mascot 2: Electric Boogaloo. We did this event a year and a half ago. Time to do it again? Draw a magical girl (or a literal mascot) that represents the spirit of MGC. Followers vote, and the winner actually has their mascot used!
