Baker's Blog.
Something new I’d like to do! As some of you may know/no one, I am actually a pastry chef and baker. I attended and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu at Chicago. I have been baking all of my life. I was raised by my Nana and spent half of my infant/childhood living in Chicago, and the other half in Tennessee with my Nana and Papa. We were always in the kitchen, eating fresh fruit and vegetables from the trees and garden, baking biscuits for breakfast, and fixing lovely southern goodness for supper. I have always found comfort in the kitchen, and I hope that never disappears.
If you’d like to know more, just ask! :)
Fun fact: all throughout culinary school(/my life, I guess) I NEVER thought I’d like/ever want/ever even* work in a restaurant. For some reason, I never thought I’d enjoy it. And ever since my first one (Graham Elliot) and now Adam and Val’s restaurants (Comet Cafe, Honeypie, former Northdown, and now, Palomino) I never not want to work in one. *Except when I open my own pie shop. That won’t be a restaurant. Just a lil pie shop. 😍😊
It’s weird how studying is actually really exciting sometimes. Obviously the majority of me is terrified/anxious/overwhelmed by the idea of taking the MCAT but I need something to keep myself occupied. A goal that I can reach. Last summer it was weight lifting goals and this summer it’s the MCAT. I am still working out, though!
