Listen

Claudia Gonson

This is a song called BLOODY SUNRISE - words and music by me, sung by Claudia Gonson (of the Magnetic Fields), instruments played by Claudia Gonson and Michael Hearst (of One Ring Zero).

In my head it’s a wistful 1960s love song sung by a vampire Petula Clark or Sandie Shaw. It was written for a strange Australian project where we were given titles to write things to.

It’s not collected anywhere, and I’m putting it up here as a small experiment, for a while.

All My Little Words

The Magnetic Fields

now that you’ve made me want to die
you tell me that you’re unboyfriendable
and i could make you pay and pay
but i could never make you stay

not for all the tea in china
not if i could sing like a bird
not for all north carolina
not for all my little words
not if i could write for you
the sweetest song you ever heard
it doesn’t matter what i do
not for all my little words
