Addie’s eyes swept around the room, observing the small tables and the patrons sharing in intimate conversation. Eventually, her gaze focused on a woman sitting idly alone with her back to Addie, waiting for someone it seemed.That was the best guess. Approaching the table, Addie readies herself for the unknown favor sure to be asked of her.
“Ms. Saxon?” she asks, standing not far from the seated woman,and smiling as best she could.

Jim slid into the seat at the bar next to the girl; ordering a whiskey, his usual. “Mackenzie Saxon?” He didn’t make eye contact; in fact, it wasn’t even clear if he was talking to her - besides the use of her name. “I’ve been informed you’re good with a knife. And a gun, presumably.” He took a sip of his drink, turning to look at her with a quirked eyebrow. “I can offer you a job. You’ll make good money. Of course, you’d have to be able to take orders - can you?”
