hunger games?
this was tough. i was thinking i would just go with katniss/peeta (because i am definitely team peeta) but i thought that would be boring, so i decided to go with:
(i love them together. i mean, who doesn’t? finnick’s death was heart breaking. the water/trident represent their district and the ways that each of them were able to win the games…annie because the arena flooded and she was the best swimmer and finnick because he fought with a trident, his best weapon)
and my least favorite pair is gale/katniss. yes, they’re great as friends, but they’re way to similar. and by the end of the series, you could tell that they would have just been awful together. (and not just because of the whole gale invented the bomb thing). katniss was messed up, and she needed somebody who was going to be with her while she healed, and stay with her even though she would never completely heal. i think that gale would not have been the best person to do that, and peeta is.
your post is the greatest thing; it was so awesome omg. it did make me want to go back into reading more canon mentions of them in ootp though, just to really to refresh things for me. but yeah awesome job :D i've posted the dates/deadlines for the new remus topic.
I initially was just going to make a plain old TL:DR fangirl feels type post about Tonks and Remadora but as I started to look into it, I just felt that I needed to give the meta the same level of seriousness and academic rigor that I put into my srs bsnz school work and it blew out of proportion from there.
It really helped me put onto writing some of the things that fandom, especially those looking at HP female characters from a feminist perspective, often ignore or overlook in their analysis of Tonks because they’re trying to prove just how not-feminist she is, which really bothers me as a fan of Tonks.
I highly recommend going back(especially to OotP) to look at those bits with Remus and Tonks though. They seriously are a subtle indication of the closeness between them that once I looked at fandom’s “omg remus/tonks came out of nowhere” reaction, I was surprised so many people missed the major hints of the pairing(it’s not that hard to miss guys, really). Anyway, I look forward to slaving away on the Remus version of the topic.
