A Long Wait - Galion/Elladan (closed)
Galion had nagged Thranduil for seven months before his King finally caved in and allowed his butler to go with him to Imladris. Over the years Elrond and Thranduil had rebuit their fractured friendship (parting on very bad terms after the Battle of the Last Alliance), and they had taken to visit each other once a year.
The butler suspected that the two elven leaders enjoyed spending time together, both being widowers and having seen so many horrendous things, and the silvan was happy his King had someone to open himself to.
Lord Elrond had sent an invitation to Thranduil, asking him and his son Legolas to visit Imladris during the autumn months and Thranduil had happily agreed. Various events and near disasters in Mirkwood had caused his King to delay his travels but at last it became clear, much to Galion’s relief, that they would visit Rivendell during winter.
At first Thranduil had been reluctant to take his butler with him. He wanted Galion to stay behind and oversee his councillors and stewards as they ran the Kingdom of Greenwood on his behalf.
However the old elf had been relentless in his pursuit to travel together with Legolas and Thranduil. When Thranduil finally agreed, Galion had spent the night ready the secret letters sent from Elladan to him. They were filled with secret and filthy fantasies and desires, but also contained a hint of longing and loneliness, and the butler missed his lover more than ever.
So when his mare walked along the hidden path, and the Last Homely House came into their view, the silvan could hardly contain his exitement.
