Questions Pez Feels Like Answering part 2

6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not?

Well, at my current job I’d be more likely to be fired for not stopping to help an animal. Hypothetically speaking, if I had a different job… I’m not sure what I’d do. I’m not likely to leap in and try to rescue an animal. I’m not a strong swimmer, and a lot of urban waterways are really dangerous to be swimming in. I’d probably call some non-emergency number and see what the person on the other end suggested. I don’t value animals as much as people, but I know someone would be heartbroken if their pet died, so I would want the dog to be saved, if possible, but I also wouldn’t want any human to risk their life to do so.

I don’t feel like answering #7 from this batch. It is stupid.

8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say?

Before or after I manage to stop laughing? Because the only way I can imagine this happening is with a hilarious mock-sincerity. I have two best friends, and I just can’t see either of them developing romantic feelings for me.

My friend Kris and I have known each other since high school, for well over half my life. Kris and I are both straight, and more than that Kris is so much in love with his wife that people still mistake them for newly-weds after a dozen years of marriage. The idea of Kris pursuing feelings for a woman besides his wife seems beyond possiblity. The thought of him confessing feelings for me is hilarious.

My friend Christa and I have known each other online for a couple years now. While the thought of her confessing feelings for me is slightly less hilarious, it’s still pretty far-fetched. Christa and her husband Nate are a fantastic couple who love each other dearly, and I’m very glad that I am so not Christa’s type that it’s funny.

If I’d somehow fallen into a parallel universe and my friend were serious, then we’d start talking about how to back off from each other and preserve my friend’s marriage, but I’m glad I won’t have to deal with that mess.

10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?

I am in some ways, and not in others. I’m caring, funny, loyal, forgiving, knowledgeable and many other traits that I like. However, I’ve also got some really annoying traits. I’m terrible about planning to get together in person. I tend to complain about the same old problems over and over. When I’m in bad mood I can be a real jerk, and when I’m depressed I tend to turn every conversation into one about me. I can be arrogant about some subjects, and I’m very opinionated about hot button subjects.

I kind of hope that my good qualities outweigh my bad ones, but I don’t know if I would find that to be the case faced with someone too much like me.
