Taking Action Regarding that Westeros.org Mod?
If we found the right contact person at HBO UK and Sky1 and collated all of Linda’s previous (sexist, heterosexist, transphobic, ablelist, etc.) statements calling fangirls cunts and retards (etc.), would people be interested in a letter writing campaign informing HBO UK and Sky1 about her extracurricular activities?

The only thing I will correct is that she is a co-owner, not just a moderator. Apparently, I’m “lying”, but by responding to and basically acknowledging my points, she just validates the purpose of this blog. She doesn’t even go out of her way to prove them wrong.
I’m just gonna take the time to respond to her thoughts.
- She talks about how, if Chataya was cast, they probably would have made her white. Which is essentially what they did on the show by substituting Ros on the show.
- It’s possible to like the show and acknowledge its faults without being dismissive of the show. Obviously not in Linda’s case.
- Basically acknowledges her misogyny and hate of all things fanfiction-y. Nothing new here really.
- Any way you spin it, you’re basically limiting the creativity of your so-called “fan creations”. Contrary to Linda’s limited world view, not all fanfiction is smut.
- Also, I’d love to know what her justification is on the grounds that her MUSH is not fanfiction. Apparently because Martin acknowledges it?
And I love how proud she is about the fact that Sandor Clegane threads were closed. Let it be known that the largest fansite for ASoIaF/GoT does not approve of free speech and will censor your opinions if they are “problematic”.

- westeros.org is sexist, racist, anti-fangirl, pro-‘purity’, etc
- but is that any need to bring yourself down to the level of linda + co
- by ripping apart every innocuous thing said on her (more personal, think) website?

i agree with every single thing said by anti-westeros.org people - i think the place is bloody horrible, and the idea that people like linda refused someone the right to be on their rp because they wanted to portray a black character is ridiculous, the fact she takes a holier than thou attitude to everything is just pathetic, etc. honest to god, i get it. it’s disgusting. it makes for a bad site admin, if nothing else.
but that’s no need to become like her or anyone she associates with in your treatment. tearing apart every statement she says to find fault and make fun of it (even when it’s nothing to do with asoiaf)? it makes you no better than her. really, thronies, westerosi, loyal fans, whatever you would like to refer to yourselves as: i know you are honestly better than that. so much better than that.
