'Make Him Like You' Has Le'Andria Johnson Praying For Her Man

You know that cringing feeling when your pastor preaches on sex and then looks at the first lady like he hit that last night? Well, that’s the awkwardness of the Make Him Like You video by season 3 Sunday Best winner Le’Andria Thompson.  It has the sensual churchy energy of Shirley Caesar singing Bump N’ Grind.  With an organ opener, quartet like arrangements, and impressive runs, I can imagine hearing Make Him Like You during a Sunday offering.  But the effortless chemistry between Le’Andria and her FIONE leading man is a rarity among gospel videos.  After the superficial layers of my initial shock, it’s apparent that Make Him Like You has a very timely message. We can all agree that the scandals that rocked the gospel industry has exceeded even the raciest Young & The Restless storyline (not like I watch that show or anything…).  In using the lessons she learned as a twice-divorced single mother of three, Le’Andria addresses the power of prayer when it comes to marital reconciliation.  Her willingness to tackle romantic subjects in front of the same audience that would shun this topic is nothing short of courageous.  I’m glad that Le’Andria is willing to share her story while encouraging others to not make her mistakes.  Now that is a true role model.  Website  Twitter  Facebook
