not only did derek totally focus on stiles instead of the incredibly deadly kanima, stiles just stands there. he doesn't bolt, he starts jogging away while still totally focused on derek and he stops and turns around as soon as derek gets hit. it's not like he could even have seen the kanima strike, but derek made one weird move and stiles stops immediately to wait for him, waits immediately to see if derek's alright. he could've been out of the door already, on the phone with scott.
