You can always tell when you are being watched. The hairs on the back of your neck stand up, your senses heighten, and your sense of paranoia shoots through the roof. Now, when you are a nation you are always on guard for this kind of thing; it’s something you learn when your young, there are always people out to get you. 

Erzsebet was sure that, despite being paranoid, that someone was following her. She stopped walking down the frost covered sidewalk, listening for the second set of footsteps she knew she heard. A branch creaked overhead, she didn’t bother looking up - distractions were an easy way to get caught. 

Instead she took the direct approach, “You are either bad at being an assassin or really bad at being a spy. You might as well come out and I might just spare your life.” It was a bluff but the idiot stalking her didn’t know that.
