Tony Bevan at the Getty...and more...
Opening on July 24th, the J. Paul Getty Museum will be presenting a group exhibition of works influenced by the German sculptor, Franz Xavier Messerschmidt, which will include two paintings by Tony Bevan. In promoting the exhibition, the Getty has chosen to reproduce Bevan’s painting alongside one of Messerschmidt’s sculptures for their posters and banners. Keep an eye out for these strewn throughout the greater Los Angeles area in the near future!
To learn more, here is the press release the Getty has released for the exhibition:

Here at L.A. Louver, we look forward to presenting a solo exhibition of new works by Tony Bevan in the fall.
In the meantime, enjoy this Bevan painting, “Self-portrait after Messerschmidt,” 2010, currently installed in our back room.
