Round and Round the Doll Factory

In what I can only take to be a sign of Super Duper’s ever-increasing cachet, (and possibly the popularity of the Derby Dolls), apparently Bobby Blotzer, the former drummer of Ratt, did not heed our warnings that the Derby Dolls gig would sell out. Thus, he drove all the way from Valencia (a.k.a Awesometown), only to be rebuffed at the door by security.

But that’s not all. Word on the street is, double B tried to drop some ’80s glam metal science on the bouncer. Apparently crowing, “I’ve played venues three times this size!” and “I sold 25 million records!” did not open any sesames, and BB was forced to go….Round and Round the block, looking for a point of entry.

For all the kids who thought they could sneak into a Ratt show at the Roxy in 1985 and got their domes roundhouse-kicked by the heavies at the door, all I have to say is “what goes around comes around….”

Lesson learned: even if your band was totally awesome in the ’80s and you live in Awesometown, when we say a show is going to sell out, we mean it!
