Every time we visit Manila, packing our luggage with plenty of Filipino foods back to China is a must, and these ready mixes (such as kutsinta and bibingka mixes) always top my list :) So whenever our palates crave for Filipino food, satisfying it is just a cupboard-reach away.

Today, we feel like eating kutsinta on a rainy Saturday afternoon. In Philippines, kutsinta or cuchinta is one of Filipinos’ favorite merienda (afternoon snacks). It’s a sticky brown-orange rice cake serve with freshly grated coconut.

Just add a cup of water into the mix, pour into each individual mold cups and steam for around 30 minutes. Chynna helped too by stirring the batter. Our kutsinta doesn’t have grated coconut on it, but it’s delish nonetheless!
