Had a great breakfast in Mumbai and took one last look at Juhu Beach. Calm waters, fisherman fishing for prawns and people jogging and walking by. We are catching a flight to Kerala, flying with Jet Airways. During the flight Amesh mentioned “this is the best airplane food I’ve ever had,” and I would have to agree with him. It would be hard to find good tikka masala on a flight in Canada.
Our driver, Saiju picked us up and drove us to Uday Sumadra Beach Resort in Kovalam. The building is very impressive. At the hotel we were greeted by a lady dressed in a Kerala sari holding a divo (candle in a brass bowl), she put a tikka on each of our foreheads and served us mango juice; this was a very nice gesture as they are welcoming us with blessings.
The hotel is on the beach front. We relaxed in out rooms then took in the beach, stores, etc. We found tailors whom would sew clothes for us ready for tomorrow! We cannot wait to pick up our purchases. Back at the hotel Sarena had some Henna done on her hands while Amesh and Pravin enjoyed a beer by the beach to watch the sun go down. Bhaskar and I watched the sunset from the beach. Just beautiful.
Our dinner was buffet style with so many dishes to choose from and naan and roti made fresh in the tandoor while you wait. During dinner there was an ancient Ramayan tale performed by artists in full regalia. Full from our meal we crashed and hit the hay, ready for another exciting day.
