Sign upBina and Ayo: Adventure Awaits!
James RoachHave you guys not read Magnolia Porter’s rad comic Monster Pulse? You should do so!
I mentioned to Rachel that I wanted to do some music for it because I really liked the comic. She said to do something for Bina and Ayo in the same mood as lifdoff. While I don’t know if I did that so much I did try to capture that sense of adventure and wonder. One of my favorite lines parts of the comic is Bina saying that she didn’t know something so strong could come from her. Hopefully you guys enjoy the music as much as I enjoy the comic!
[[unpopular opinion]]
on trolls and hate.
i feel like that just because trolls have a defined romance for hate, people automatically assume that when two trolls oppose each other, it also means they want to fuck.
trollskind is a cruel, brutal race in which hatred is ingrained. they are trained from the moment they emerge out of pupation to compete and kill others to survive and get ahead in life. they are domineering and oppressive as a race. they must kill to survive, and to kill they must hate. hate puts them ahead of the competition.
kismeses should not want to kill their partners. yes, their relationship is based on hate, but also rivalry. you cannot compete with a dead troll. you cannot fill pails with a dead troll. you do not want to be in a relationship with a troll you want to kill. it will wind up getting you killed.
this is why i literally cannot sail black ships like empress/sufferer, grand highblood/summoner, etc. the empress and the sufferer were one anothers biggest threats. its common sense they hated each other, but they could not be in a romantic relationship with one another and still adhere to their respective causes.
and just because you hate a troll, does not automatically mean you are physically attracted to them.
now, i know there are exceptions to each rule. some people justify it nicely in rp and such. but canon? no way.
TL;DR
i think trolls are far more prone to platonic hate than caliginous hate.
