“I was head over heels in love with her. No, that didn’t describe it. I was tear my fucking heart out and throw it at her, beg her to take it into hers. I was falling from the greatest heights with no safety net below. I was giving everything of my own life for hers, giving up every inch of my soul so she could wear it proudly. I was a former king on my knees in front of the queen. A jester begging for a chance. I was powerless, helpless and at her mercy.”
― Karina Halle, The Dex-Files

“I have to live with my mistakes, but I don't have to regret them. I regret my actions but I can't regret the consequences. We all make our own paths in life. Everyone we meet, everything we do, it changes us. It makes us who we are. And, if we're lucky, we're given the chance to make things right again.”
— Sins & Needles by Karina HalleBook rec: Sins & Needles

This is exactly what I did last night. I read this book and that’s it. In fact I was up until 5am READING THIS BOOK. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. It ends on a cliffhanger but I thought ‘Okay, I’ll just read the second book when it comes out in a month or so.’ not realizing that this book just came out like a fucking week or two ago. Release date for the second book? Summer 2013.
FML.
Sins & Needles

Blurb:
Ellie Watt is used to starting over. The daughter of a grifting team, Ellie spent her childhood being used as a pawn in her parents’ latest scam. Now she’s much older, wiser and ready to give her con artist life a rest. But returning to the dry desert town of Palm Valley, California means one more temptation than she bargained for - Camden McQueen. Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.
Review:

She was the con artist who pick pocketed his heart.
And he was the only person who believed in her; the girl with a hundred identities; the girl with the purest of hearts and worst of intentions.
She was the girl who fell in love with the villain. And he was the hero.
Who wins?
***LOVED IT!!!*** Geez… you should have seen my face when I finished this book.
Well. Due to the major cliff-hanger, it was a LOT like this:

DAMN IT!
This is ridiculous! The Experiment in Terror series is probably the best out of everything I’ve ever read. It has the perfect blend of horror, (which might I add is rather freaky) suspense, romance, and sexual tension. Speaking of which! The sexual tension just makes me want to smack them both. They need to fuck, get together, and call it a day! Fuck Jennifer she’s superficial and just damn ugh! Dex and Perry all the way! They just need to go with their feelings. It’s so FRUSTRATING!!!!! At points I find myself wanting to smash their faces together at the almost, suspenseful, kiss scenes that leave me disappointed when nothing happens. Now that my rant is over have a good day. (:
Kudos to you Karina Halle. You are definitely my favorite author yet, and beautiful too. (:
